Our work emphasises landscape-led planning, ensuring development proposals respond positively to their environmental context while creating functional, attractive & resilient places. We collaborate with architects, planners, developers, ecologists & built environment professionals private clients to provide professional landscape expertise at every stage of the project lifecycle.

LANDSCAPE-LED THINKING
Landscape-led thinking begins with understanding the inherent character of a place. In landscape architecture this principle is often expressed through the concept of genius loci — the “spirit of the place”. It refers to the distinctive atmosphere created by the interaction of landform, ecology, cultural history & sensory experience. Responding to the genius loci of a site requires careful observation and analysis. Landform, soils, hydrology, vegetation patterns, sunlight, views & microclimates all shape the physical structure of the landscape, while seasonal rhythms, historic land use & cultural narratives contribute to its identity. Landscape design that works with these conditions can create environments that feel authentic & connected to their setting.
Place identity is strengthened through the careful composition of
landform + planting + water, light & movement
to support ecological systems & create meaningful environments for people.

COLLABORATING WITH BUILT ENVIRONMENT PROFESSIONALS
Early landscape input can help identify site opportunities, reduce planning risk & establish a strong spatial structure for development. We collaborate with planners, architects, developers & environmental consultants to provide landscape expertise that strengthens planning submissions & design proposals.

LANDSCAPE DESIGN
We also work with private clients to design gardens & landscapes that are environmentally responsive, practical & beautiful. Projects range from residential gardens to rural landscapes, with an emphasis on creating spaces that support biodiversity, water management & long-term landscape character.
