Heathland Studio is a landscape architecture practice providing strategic landscape planning, design & environmental consultancy work for development projects & private clients. Our studio provides support such as feasibility studies, landscape appraisals, landscape frameworks, masterplanning, detailed design, technical documentation through to delivery of projects.

The inherent character of a place is expressed through the concept of genius loci — the “spirit of the place”. This refers to the distinctive atmosphere created by the interaction of landform, built form, microclimate, ecology, cultural richnes. Landform, soils, hydrology, vegetation patterns, sunlight, views & microclimates shape the physical structure of the landscape, while seasonal rhythms, historic land use & cultural narratives contribute to the final composition. The human experience draws on these qualities for a rich & sensory experience. To this end, landscape design pulls unique isolated parts together into a holistic arrangement that feels authentic, meaningful & connected to the setting.
